Dr. Amy Stevens services veterans in the DAV by being an advocate for female veterans and doing outreach so they will know more about their service benefits. Most of this is done through a social media network group on Facebook “GA Military Women”.  We have over 600 women as members in Georgia and 5 active meet-up groups in the state for social and professional networking. Those needing help for benefits receive a referral to a DAV Service Officer.  Others may be referred to community resources or directly to the Veteran Administration according to their needs. Most important is encouraging pride and comradery in being a woman veteran. She also assists any male or female veteran in accessing services for mental health issues.  A free consultation and referral is available on a limited basis.

Dr. Amy Stevens, Ed.D. LPC is a clinical consultant and nationally known speaker on PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma and other veteran issues. She is the Founder of the Facebook social network “GA Military Women”. Her clinical degrees are from Johns Hopkins University and Argosy University. She is a service disabled U.S. Navy veteran and also served as a contractor with the National Guard. She lives in Marietta, GA.  For more information, go to or find her on Linked In.
